His Voice in the Word
The problem with writing a blog when deep down you love to teach is every blog you try to write turns in to this multi-paragraphed teaching that probably no one will read. I've come to terms with it. I'm not a blogger, I'm a teacher. So, I will use this area to share from my daily journaling but probably not daily.
Four years ago (nearly 5 now), I was introduced to the Bible reading and journaling program used by Pastor Wayne Cordeiro's church, New Hope Oahu. To say that this plan changed our lives is a major understatement. Through following the plan, we began to learn how to be led by God's Word to fulfill the call to ministry on our lives. We have been taught that the number 1 way that God speaks to His people is through His Word and I can say we've found this to be 100% true. The Word speaks and the Holy Spirit confirms.
Here's my journaling from this morning:
Nehemiah, Chapters 3 & 4
S (scripture) Nehemiah 4:6. "So we built the wall..."
O (observation) The Lord's plans will stand!
A (application) 1. Some may refuse to work (see Nehemiah 3:5) - even leadership; 2. Some may curse our work (see Nehemiah 4:2-3); 3. Some may try to attack our work (see Nehemiah 4:7-8). SO WHAT! Nehemiah 4:14 And I looked, and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders, and to the rest of the people, "Do not be afraid of them! Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes." Bottom line: We do our part - work and arm ourselves with the Word and in prayer - and the Lord WILL move on our behalf.
P (prayer) Praise you Lord for your wonderful Word that encourages us in this good work we are endeavoring to do according to your plan. Help us to always keep our eyes on You and Your plan for our lives. In Jesus' Name, amen.
