Our Visit Home
Our visit to the States in August was wonderful. It was so good to see family and friends and to get recharged for our work in Ireland.
It's funny, when we were planning our trip home, 4 weeks seemed long and like it would be plenty of time to see everyone, visit every place, and to do every thing we wanted, but the time went by quickly and we weren't able to check every box. Still, it was great. Here's a summary of what we did:
July 29 - August 9 Tulsa/Fire for the Nations Conference - it was amazing and we were so encouraged!
August 9 - 13th Missouri: Visited Family, ministered at House of Prayer Family Church, Jefferson City MO (Pastors James and Doreen Jackson) and held a "Tea with the Turbetts" ministry and sharing at our home church, The River in Waynesville (Pastors Howard and Melanie Malone).
August 13 - 20 Traveled to Tennesse to visit family in Crossville, visited Pastors Eddie and Amanda Turner at Family Worship Center in Murfreesboro, reconnected with a team that came to Limerick with Global Ventures, and got to visit with Ashlyn's former youth pastors, Jason and Meagan Dow.
August 21 - 26 Back to Missouri via Funk's Grove, IL to visit friends, Kent and Monica Swindle. (If you're ever able to visit Funk's Grove Nature Center, do it!) We got to spend a week with our oldest son and family in Waynesville as we wrapped up our time in the States. We ministered at Family of God Church, Camdenton, MO, by the invitation of our friend, KC Wright, and the welcome of Pastor Teffra. After the service, we hit the road to make it back to Tulsa for World Outreach Church's monthly 4S service.
August 28 - Returned to Dallas to be ready for our flight to Shannon the next day. We were thrilled to get to have dinner with the lovely Molly McGee, Pastor Howard and Melanie's youngest daughter.
August 29 - Flight from DFW to Shannon, via Chicago and Philadelphia
All in all, we traveled 2554 miles by car (40 hours) and 11,162 miles in flight (27 hours) and it was totally worth it! Thank you to everyone who hosted us, prayed for us, helped financially, fed us, greeted us, and came on as new partners with what God is doing in Ireland. We are truly BLESSED!
